The Holy Scriptures
We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, as the infallible and authoritative Word of God—the all-sufficient rule for faith and conduct.
2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21
The One True God
We believe in one eternal God, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—distinct in personhood but unified in essence, power, and glory.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, buried, and resurrected. He ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for the saints.
John 1:14; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11; Romans 8:34
The Fall and Redemption of Man
We believe that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory, and that repentance is commanded by God and necessary for forgiveness. Justification, regeneration, and the new birth are received through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:23–24; Acts 3:19; Titus 3:5; John 3:3–7
Sanctification and Holiness
We believe in sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, beginning at regeneration and continuing through the life of the believer by the Holy Spirit and the Word. We affirm holiness as God’s standard of living for His people.
1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 Peter 1:15–16; John 17:17
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism with the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience subsequent to salvation, empowering believers for service. The initial evidence of this baptism is speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. The gifts of the Spirit, fruit of the Spirit, and signs following believers are active and operative today.
Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Galatians 5:22–23; Mark 16:17–18
